IMA International recently designed and delivered a customised online training program focused on Knowledge Management (KM) and Monitoring, Research, Evaluation, and Learning (MREL) for the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA). This aimed to support the establishment of a robust MREL system within the agency while enhancing the relevant skill sets among its staff.
As a vital entity tasked with safeguarding communities against a spectrum of health threats, including infectious diseases and other hazards, UKHSA operates with a mandate to provide comprehensive leadership at national, local, and global levels. Recognising the critical importance of effective knowledge management and MREL practices in fulfilling its mission, UKHSA enlisted the expertise of IMA International to introduce Knowledge Management as a strategic approach for facilitating seamless information sharing across different components of the organisation.
"Great material available throughout the course to download, the portal is also really good."
Zoe Sheridan - UK HSA
MREL in practice
Given the multifaceted nature of UKHSA's operations, particularly within its Global Operations division, which oversees diverse projects in global health security and disaster risk reduction, there was a need to enhance capacities in MREL theories and methodologies. These enhancements were intended to align with the overarching program theory of change and cater to the varied needs of participants engaged in different facets of MREL activities, as a strategic priority to effectively address the evolving challenges in public health security and emergency response.
The platform was easy to navigate and accessible and content within it was easy to understand.
William Jones, UK HSA
"The course leaders were really enthusiastic about the material."
