Leadership and Management in International Development training

International development practitioners working in Iraq, Myanmar, Indonesia, the Philippines, Cambodia and Sudan engaged and learnt together in a full five days of IMA International’s Leadership and Management in International Development course in Bangkok in late November this year.

Facilitators Ruth Jolly and Roland Webster design this special course to build practitioners’ self-awareness, confidence and skills in their service as accountable decision-makers. During this week together, participants encountered sound management and leadership theory as a foundation to play out real management challenges. ‘Very informative and eye opening, the course covered all the areas brilliantly’

They familiarised themselves with a range of tools, confident to know how and where to apply them. And they faced current global sustainability issues, enquiring into what leadership and organisational forms are being called for. The process is supportive as well as testing: ‘The training is a challenging experience. I learned so much about myself and how to operate for more success’

Individuals left, gaining internationally recognised certificates, connected and motivated in their peer group. And they are now linked into the wider cohort of IMA alumni and with our facilitators for support and follow up.

‘A fantastic week with great trainers – top level. I learned a lot even after 8 years management and different management and leadership training.  The best training I’ve ever participated in’.
