Initial Needs Assessment for Tailored Training
IMA were contacted by Good Shepherds International and provided online tailored Training of Trainers (ToT). This was to tailor and scale Theory of Change (ToC) training to enable the Good Shepherd staff to deliver a series of face-to-face tailored Training of Trainers workshops on Theory of Change in Senegal.
Delivery of Online Tailored Training on Theory of Change
The tailored training was delivered online for a group of project managers. The participants were then tasked with running stakeholder workshops, with the project partners in country. This then enabled the project partners to develop a new Theory of Change for GSI International.
The two-day workshops were a mix of online presentations, with tasks set in between to give participants space to reflect and build on their learning. The tasks involved leading the participants through the steps of developing a Theory of Change, and adapting the materials so they were easily understood by project partners in country. One of the challenges of approaches such as Theory of Change and M&E, is that they can be very theoretically heavy. IMA endeavours to make these approaches understandable, accessible, and easy to understand, breaking down the traditional barriers to learning . Materials were aligned with the IMA online Theory of Change training course.

Testimonial of Online Tailored Training
“My team and I had the chance to get the ToC training of IMA, as we were preparing to support our Senegalese local partner with their five year strategy. This experience with IMA and especially with Leigh our trainer, has been Incredibly insightful. This 1,5 day training gave us some solid basis to do our work and got us familiarized with the aim of the ToC, the multiple ways it could be carry out and some tips to facilitate a workshop on that topic.
Leigh was attentive to our demands, flexible, reassuring and could answers all of our questions. She is very passionate about her job, which makes the training particularly enjoyable. I wish to sincerely thank her for her incredible support” Alice Coulibaly, Africa Regional Manager, Good Shepherds International.
