IMA designed and conducted an online Training of Trainers (ToT) for the Independent Evaluation Department (IED) of the Asian Development Bank (ADB). The purpose was to equip core IED staff with the skills to lead the newly developed Foundation Course in Project Evaluation. The training comprised five interactive group workshop sessions, each lasting two hours, along with individual self-study components.
Project Evaluation course
Prior to the Project Evaluation Training of Trainers sessions, participants completed preparatory work. This included a pre-course questionnaire and familiarization with course materials. Throughout the training, participants engaged in practical activities such as facilitating group work, practicing delivery of presentations in mini-sessions and giving and receiving constructive feedback from their peers. They collaborated in small groups to plan and lead sections of the Foundation in Evaluation Course, utilizing actual session plans, PowerPoint slides, and other materials. IMA assisted IED by adapting their face-to-face evaluation course into an online format and the ToT training enabled IED staff to effectively facilitate the new Project Evaluation course.
Training of Trainers
IMA supports the sustainable training by enabling students to become the teachers, through our Training of Trainers service. Through collaborative learning with peers, participants gain insights into course design, effective facilitation, and diligent monitoring. Emphasizing behaviour change as the primary objective. Trainers learn strategies to ensure the integration of learning, monitor training progress, and target the necessary behavioural shifts for maximum impact. Participants emerge equipped with the knowledge and skills to catalyse change within their organization or team, discerning their spheres of influence and employing effective influencing techniques. Action plans devised at the program's conclusion facilitate ongoing progress. Please get in touch if you would like to find out more.
