Ruth Jolly

Senior Consultant

Ruth works as a facilitator, organisational development (OD) specialist and qualified coach – with partners, staff and boards of international development, human rights and environment organisations. Ruth has worked in this sector for 25 years’ and has been a consultant with IMA International since June 2014.
Ruth has held operational and senior posts in grass-roots organisations, INGOs, training and research consultancies, UN agencies and advocacy coalitions. She was Head of Learning at VSO and led the Learning and Development function at Amnesty International.

She has worked and lived in East Africa, South East Asia and the UK. In facilitation, training and 1-1 coaching, Ruth is dedicated to providing input and space to develop those ‘inner skills’ which serve managers and leaders in challenging contexts. Ruth holds an MA in Understanding and Securing Human Rights (London University School of Advanced Studies) has lectured on the links between development and human rights and tutored on Wye College’s Masters programme on NGO Management. She has published, under INTRAC, papers on NGO management in conflict and NGO capacity building support organisations. She maintains a strong desire to support development practitioners relate, learn together and apply learning in the real world of programming and delivery.
